Default Brake Upgrade

Will the EX calipers fit on a 93 DX? I know that i can buy an EX saddle and caliper and that it will fit if the hub is the same on both models. Also, would a 99 Si caliper and saddle fit on my car??

there is no difference between ex and dx brake calipers.

so i guess the answer is yes. but it's not an upgrade. the only model integra/civic that came with larger front rotors and calipers are the type-r's. and yes they also fit but I think you need the steering knuckles from the type-r.

Actually, all Integras and the Civic Si and EX came with larger front rotors and possibly calipers as well.

And, of course, to illustrate the point:

http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/bigbrakesbymcp.html

The EX and Si model of the 92-95 Civic had calipers manufactured by Nissin.

The CX, DX, and VX had calipers manufactured by Akebono.

The base of all good upgrades on Civics is the steering knuckle from an EX (or Si) with the Nissin mounting points. Please don't say if you don't know.

The EX caliper will not fit on a 92-95 DX without the steering knuckle from either an EX/Si or an Integra. The hub is the same size and pattern, but the EX/Si discs are slightly larger. It is most certainly an upgrade, and also why Honda put them on the EX and Si.

hmm. Maybe I shouldn't have been so harsh. I don't have any history with you, so I didn't know if you were a newbie with an attitude. Don't take it personal. We're rough.

EX/Si/Integras (exc. r) have 10.4 in rotors w/nissin calipers. Everything else is 9.5" w/akebono calipers.

Also, it's good to note that even thought the ex/si and integra calipers are both nissin, the piston on the teg calipers have a larger bore, so even if you have an ex, you can upgrade to teg calipers and still see an improvement.
