1992 VX civic HB with a B16a2 from a 2k civic si
mods :
AEM CAI
JDM DCsports header 4-1 2.5 collector
High flow cat 2.5 in/0ut
custom exhaust 2.5 piping
AEM Alt pulley
Solo short shifter
, well i plan to get a p28 chipped, what would be my best setup as in
when vtec kicks in , and the redline i should have?
when i had my 2k civic si , i shifted at 8400 , and the fuel cut off was 8500
and i got better times , then me shifting at 8000 ,
I am planning to get nx nos 50 shots or so later down the road
and i might get cams, but i dont know if i will have the money for them ,
so i was thinking to have my vtec at 5300 , and redline 8500 ,
what do u guys think ? give me any input u have

just to add on a smaller question.....does a new chip benefit a manual tranny more than an auto? and if you put a top-notch chip into a stock civic, what would be the performance gain?

You can't just say you want your vtec here or there...
If you want the most power, you need to have your engine tuned. That helps you find the BEST place for your vtec engagement..
If you're going to run a chipped P28, I would suggest getting a VAFC and have it tuned better.. because you never know what that "chip" is doing for your engine..

stock tachs are off by about 2-400rpm actual rpm was infact 8-8.1k rpm
my recommendations are:
VTEC @ 5.2-5.5k rpm
REV @ 8.4-8.6k rpm (which would show as about 8.6-8.8k rpm on stock tach)
as far as programs Mugen is not all that it might make power but you're wasting gas. I offer alternatives that come close the power levels but with stock B16A gas consumption. (ie. euro P30 maps)
