I know that they are DOT approved here in the states. I would check with someone around there to see if that is okay.

I'm quite sure that DOT standards are more strict that european/japanese lighting standards and since they are superior (need extra reflectors, etc) they might be acceptable.

But I sold tail-lights for a long time my sophomore year of college and I never saw a TOV marking on any tail-lamp.

Altezzas are somewhat stigmatized here in the states.
It's like a double standard, it' okay to have japanese rice on an american car, but bad to have american rice on a european car.

Get them if you can.

i took spanish in highschool but i'll try and translate.

"that's the problem i live in germania and i bought the altezza's from a car dealer here in germany, but he originally bought them in the good U.S. of A. "

i would recommend taking them off before you go in for your inspection, and when you return from the inspection put them back onto your car. the reason people are telling you not to put them on your car is that altezza lights have been around the US for a long time so a lot of people have them and many people that do not own them do not like how they look. if you like the way they look and not many people have them in germany, i would say do what you want. good luck!
