OEM Clutch
It's time for a replacement and I prefer to just stay OEM and have the OEM flywheel resurfaced as well. Can any of you guys recommend anywhere other than the dealer that carries the OEM clutch at a reasonable price? I tried acuraautomotiveparts.net with little success. Part# would be helpful too, I don't have a helms handy and am trying to order this today.
Yeah, I searched, no luck...

OEM is relatively cheaper, from what i've seen, and I don't want anything much stiffer than the stock feel. I've heard the Exedy organic is close to stock feel but about twice as much in cost. I've been happy with the performance and life of the OEM and don't have any immediate need for a clutch that will hold more power. I'm only putting down 170whp for the time being and will probably only squeeze out another 10 in spring time.
OGizzle Bizzle, I have the exedy full face organic and am very happy with it. Pedal feel is very close to stock and seems to grab great. Exedy claims that this clutch has an additional 33% clamping force vs. stock, so it should handle 170 HP with no problem.
Also, it is relatively cheap...for about 240 you get a clutch kit which includes clutch, PP, throw out bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool. Try either www.coximport.com or www.clutchcityonline.com for great prices on the exedy clutches. Now there are some people who will say they have had negative experiences with the exedy clutch but I have not had a single issue with mine.

ditto...
if you're gonna spend the $ to replace the clutch (and the trouble of swapping it), just spend a few extra dollars on the exedy organic. i had it in the hatchy and i swear pedal feel was very very close to stock... and it grabbed really strong too. no complaints whatsoever. and if you're putting another clutch in, why not a lightened flywheel
exedy clutch + spoon flywheel = broken rpm needle between 6-8.5k
OGizzle Bizzle LOL
fo shizzle my nizzle

noise is easily fixable... i encountered it with my hatch.
1)installer needs to follow directions, and properly lube the throwout bearing. exedy has specific instructions on this (its a separate piece of paper that comes with the clutch)
2)you need to adjust your clutch pedal so it doesnt go down as far... but so that it still goes down far enough to engage of course... its a real easy fix
those 2 steps get rid of any rubbing/ticking sounds.

I've heard of noise issues with the Exedy clutch, whether it be some sort of clicking or squeaking
any feedback on that issue?
any feedback on that issue?
here is the info that exedy sends with their clutches addressing the problem:
nate you can do what i did: go oem disc and get a lil bit of a stronger PP like clutchnet, act or watever is out there nowadays. retain the stock feel and hold more power at the same time
