knock sensor LED?
Is there any way you can put a LED light on your knock sensor to see when it is getting knock? If so does anyone have a diagram.
Sounds like a bad Idea to me....seeing how the peizo electric crystal inside the knock sensor makes voltage. If you were to hook an LED to it that voltage would be used up by the LED and not make it to you ecu (and it probably isnt enough voltage to even do anything with anyway)

I'm not an electronics guru, so I make to claim that what I'm saying is correct, but wouldn't you wire the led in parallel with the ecu? Anyhow, he may not mean wire directly to the knock sensor. I would think that the knock sensor sends a voltage to the computer, and the computer inturn translates that to a voltage it can read. I would think you could tap into the signal the computer translated to detect knock and monitor it with a voltage meter while not interferring with the ecu. I think something that could keep track of knock count would be more helpful than just an LED anyhow.
It can be done, DSM guys have been doing it for years with datalogger software on palm pilots. And check out the S-AFCII, don't they have a knock count function?
Just random thoughts, pay no mind, heh.
