I was thinking about doing the same thing for a different car...however, someone pointed out to me that I would be making a long journey with a car that Im not familiar with. What happens if it has an overheating problem that has a wierd solution. My friend had a saturn that if you didnt run the AC, the car would over heat. Just a thought man, sounds like a good rex.
I'd have to agree with madman. No matter how good the deal I'd never fly out to someplace and drive a car home (unless I knew the person selling it and could trust them). A good friend of mine was going to fly down to TX or someplace like that and drive the car back, but the seller told him no. He said he trusted the vehicle, but didn't want to be liable for something like it randomly breaking down and my friend being stuck. He'd only agree to sell the car to him if my buddy had someone drive down there with him and follow him back to VA in the car they drove down in.

hey dragon u wanna go on a road trip lol
Sounds like a horrible deal, you should give me the guy's contact information so I can call him and tell him how bad a deal it is!
I've got friend's in AZ, but to drive from there to NC... I don't have the spare days.

For what this is worth-planned a similar move and it went well. The catch-175K on the 1 owner Odometer from a real Honda dealer in Charlotte-we had the car serviced and I drove it home to Pittsburgh. The chase car was ready to do its thing too. I would not do this distance with a private seller unless you have a truck and trailer to bring it home. MY best friend begged me to trailer and I said that we had the car completely serviced at the dealership and they were going to stand behind their work. MY 89 CRX Si is box stock under the hood-the one you are considering is not and that as others are saying can be a problem.
IF you really want this car-borrow a truck that can pull a U-Haul 5000 pound rated trailer and go after it.

I agree with the towing. If it was bone stock I would probably say you would be okay, but a cars that has mods, you never know what might happen. And you would be pissed if you got stuck out in the middle of nowwhere!!
hmmmm, VA - OH - AZ and then back. That's a lotta gas and a lotta miles on my 4Runner, think I'll have to pass on that one man. It's a fun roadtrip though, a good friend of mine and I drove from VA - CA to drop him and his car off at Grad School in Santa Barbara (the lucky SOB) and then I flew back. If you got a reliable truck and can source up a trailer that's your best option if you don't have any friends that can take the time off to drive with you.
listen to this h-t member thaiphob is going to test drive the car for me tell me what he thinks about it.........that helps a little i will have a second opp. about the car.....that will help me decide if it is worth it.......i have no truck nor trailer let alone someone who will let mo or drive me to arizona i have to sleep on it one more night......but if its a good car and thaiphob tells me to hop on it i might just have it shipped.........but dont know how much it would be to ship
