I know of at least one ECHC Type R using that tray since he is not allowed to keep his airbags.

Another option is a cheaper alternative to replace an popped airbag after an accident (not sure on the legality of that).

yeah I thought it was illegal to tamper with your air bags??? and if its a "track *****" why would you care that there is a hole in the dash?

it's not illegal, and if you do allot of HPDE's you may not want it. i simple bump can cause the air bags to come out and that would suck a fat one if your at a high rate of speed and it could have been something you could have saved.

this has been talked about before in the past...
