Suspension question. (Bushings and such)
I will be soon buying a set of Konis for my rex. This will be the very first time that I take apart my suspension system to replace the old (and blown) stock CRX struts. I do realize that this will be at least a 4 hour job. NO prob. Because I am so ignorant on the subject, I was wondering, should I be picking up some "shock-mount" bushings also? What other components should I be getting/replacing for this install?
How much will a set of bushings run me? (Again, I am totally dumb on this subject) Should I go with 3rd party or OEM?
Thanks for any info provided!

If you get the "shock mount"(#32 far left side of the image) aftermarket bushings you will probably need to get the old ones pressed out at a machine shop. If i were you i would get all 3 bushings ( http://www.energysuspension.com/ ) on each of the rear lca's done at once.
The 3 bushings are on the far left side of the image #24 #32 #24.
I purchased the master kit from inlinefour.com (http://www.inlinefour.com/ensushypsys.html ) for about $127.
Edit: I'm so not awake

Do you mean the bushing in the shock hat?
It's probably best just to get the whole hyperflex kit and install the bushings... I'm sure your bushings are worn and breaking apart, doesn't hurt to upgrade.

the only problem with the ES kit is that the car will ride a little more harsh and can have the tendecy to squeak if you do not grease the bushings good enough. you might care about this stuff if your car is a daily driver...
Do most people do the bushings when they do shock upgrades on older cars? My car is a daily driver....not a track car. Perhaps I don't even need to do bushings.? Any thoughts?
The shocks will come with everything you generally need to replace them-EXCEPT a few Honda only parts that you may want to replace. These are the lower bolts and bushings if the car is original. The upper bushings should be in the shock kit. I redo suspensions from the ground up-but then my cars do see the track. Since you are not going to do HPDE or autocross-you can easily do the simple updates. The only really hard one is the rear trailing arm bushings-lots of threads on this one. I strongly urge you to replace them as they are now over 12 years old in many cases and it will improve the handling of your car (We used Energy Suspension for all poly parts). For a non-track setup all you need are the stock LCA's and locating (upper) links if you feel the rubber is gone on them. Do replace the swar bar bushings and end links with poly ones-this is a cheap good upgrade for any CRX. Hope this helps you.
If u arent really into the performance aspect just leave your sloppy OEM bushings. They will suffice. By the way dont listen to anyone who says energy squeak cause they do not, myself and several fellow enthusiasts who I know have them and they are nothing but beneficial. Just grease em' yO.
