Drive it back. It will only take easy 2 days from NE to OR. Stop by at Mt. Rushmore, if you haven't been there before. Obviously, this is only feasible when the weather warms up a bit.

I didn't want to go out and drive it back with my dad, which was an option. I had my R shipped her on a auto transport ruck. I've heard they way to go is the railroad, but can be pricey. Mine was shipped from NYC to Orange County, Cali for 800. But stay away from A-A Auto Transport, I got the car safely, but did a horrible job in keeping in contact with, and the company itself had a hard time keeping in contact with the driver. that and it arrived nearly 2 weeks after the set date. Once in a while, shipping company will damage the customers car while in transit. Shipping isn't as perfect as it seems. Also, don't go for the cheapest company... you get what you pay for. Always insist on closed trailor/truck. Some companies ship in open trailor which blows.

open trailer , id pay the extra cash if possible and go for either a closed truck or the railroad, out of curiosity i asked around about the railroad method, and heard a lot of good things.......best of luck to you and getting a R! Shawn

I've been researching this as well.

So far the only one that will transport from terminal to terminal via railroad is WWW.AUTOLOG.NET But it is pricey. My quote was around $1300 from Oregon to NY.

Good luck!!

If you want the best, here is a link. I and many others I know have used this company to transport Race Cars & Exotic Cars all over the country. Highly Recommended

why dont you buy a plane ticket and fly out and pick the car up and drive it back? much cheaper and miss a day of school.. college isnt that hard.
