I believe my vtec engages at 4800 RPM and since the SI/Ex are both Sohc Vtec, I'd assume that its the same for you!!

correct me if I'm wrong...but what I have read is 5200...I have the sohc Z6 in my sol with intake and tanabe super medallion and it is STILL hard to hear/feel....its only 130 hp... not going to be a huge crossover especially ina coupe (for the guys that, rather than answering him gave smartass comments like "go drive your car"). I agree that a search probably would have yeilded the results he was looking for, but still - it was a simple question with a pretty straight forward answer. Instead of cluttering a thread with 7 useless posts - wasting space (cause everyone bitches if a post is made in the wrong forum cause it isnt a topic that is beneficial to that forum it was incorrectly posted in) why not quickly answer the question and move on? much simpler that way isnt it? If the issue was that you guys didnt know the answer....flaming him for asking without doing a complete search didnt make you sound any smarter. My understanding is that this is a technical forum where one could come ask questions they didnt know the answer to...who cares if it has been asked before... Took me a while to figure out to actually change the search criteria to archived topics to get more results...maybe the search just wasn't dont completely....regardless
I believe it is 5200...and when I have more time i will get back on and do a search MYSELF and try to give an accurate answer if one hasn't been given for sure.

I'll finish this right now...ALL SOHC ENGINES HAVE VTEC ENGAGEMENT POINT OF 4800 RPM
