Default Rust on a stainless muffler "explained".

I see some of you have been complaining about rust on stanless mufflers. I hope this helps explains why this happens. The stainless mufflers are welded to a regular steel pipe or flange, and sometimes during the welding process sparks or little ***** of moulton steel can be thrown onto the stainless muffler section. Now the manufacturers do thieir best to remove the sparks/moulton ***** of steel, but even if you can't see it there is still a slight residue of steel embeded into the stainless section. So those left over steel spots are rusting, not your stainless muffler. Hope this helps...
