Whats some options for chipping my pr3 ECU?? Im looking for a higher rev limiter, and a vtec cross over change..? what are some of my options?

 

I believe:
mugen = no rev limit, no knock sensor, one O2 sensor, Vtec crossover at 4800, fuel map adjustment
RPI = 9000 rev limit, Vtec crossover at 5200, fuel map adjustment

I run the Mugen one for my B18c1 - its perfect
I have the RPI laying around but have never dropped it in to try it out because I'd have to add an O2 sensor...

 

 

hey where can i get a legit chip not some ebay stuff. im worried about getting a chip off ebay.

Get one with a rev limiter at least.

 

I have the Spoon chip 8,500 rpm cutoff, 4,500 vtec point, no speed limiter, and more aggressive fuel maps.

 

crazy no rev limiter , hope u dont miss shift

 

The Mugen chip has a VTEC crossover at 4,500 rpm.

isnt 4500 a little low in the power band for vtec to be kicked in?

 

I have my crossover set at 4800 with the VAFC - works for me...haven't had it dyno'd tho to see if this is the "optimum" crossover point.

 

Why not throw a vtec override switch in your car? Have vtec any time or all the time.

 

Are you sure you didnt mean http://www.hyperducktuning.com they have great prices, I'm ordering from them this week. Something like two programs of your choice, plus the socket, and instructions for $40.

 

Couldn't agree more. mines 5200 right now wish it was 6000.

indeed. don't be fooled by ebay. many people have been burned by so called good deals about 25% of people who purchased an EBAY chip came back to me to get another one.

either way I dyno my chips and all my programs come from original Spoon/Mugen/J's and other Tuner ECUs. I own the ecu test the variables then sell it.

I have two PR3 on special (ECU thats socketed + three chips) for $250US shipped.

kits are $39US shipped includes socket + two chips + instructions.
