HorsePower gains by putting Cams in B16a
Hey I recently put a b16a vtec in my '91 CRX Si..I here by putting cams in makes noticable gains..What would the pricing be and possibly horse power gains? I here skunk cams are the way to go..Any advice?
high lift cams with a good valvetrain will make any b16 scream, but just make sure thats not ALL you do, otherwise you are cheating yourself.
If it's a first gen b16a motor, even putting in 2nd gen b16a cams will yield a 5whp gain. First gen cams suck!! That's why i'm swaping them out for a pair of CTR cams
Dude get some CTR cams and Cam gears with ITR intake valve springs.
CTR cams $400 Used
Cam gears $200
ITR valve springs $126
Get some dyno time and you will feel a difference.

getting big lobed cams will make it a little more difficult to tune if u get say...a piggyback/stand alone management. Not impossible but just a little more difficult. A friend of mine got the skunk2 stage 3 head package, and hondata stage 2. Phew that engine is so hard to tune. The overlap of the big cams make it hard to get a/f mixture just right with timing etc. etc.
i say just go for the CTR stuff if u don't want to hassle with alot of tuning etc. etc.
