hey guys does anyone know of a removable sunroof for the crx? mine doesnt work and i really dont feel like buying any parts to fix it...so i figured i'd just take out all of the heavy stuff and just have a piece that pops out..when i dont need it. anyone ever heard of this?

Hmm are you looking for a pop up type sunroof, or a removable filler. I've seen some custom cut lexan pieces, also there was a guy who welded in a non-sunroof roof. If it was me (I wish mine would rust out), I would order a glass top roof from http://www.hmotorsonline.com and get that welded in. I think that runs about $750 for the roof, but it would be very unique.

 

I don't think that there is anyone who makes something like that, it would have to be custom made, a fiberglass piece, you'd have to make sure it fit good though, i would go to a body shop and get a quote.

 

get a dx roof skin. then you can get rid or your sunroof and motor assembly.

 

looking for a removable filler...so the only thing i can do is get one custom made? i bet if someone on the board made some..they'd sell

$125...just looked at it again myself (they charge $45 or something for shipping so if I get one I'm making the drive to pick it up). I've been thinking about going this route, but it has to be <u>riveted</u> in place, so I don't know how well it will hold up to rain/sun/cracking/etc.

I also don't like the fact that it isn't really replaceable. But then again I don't want to deal with another friggin' rusty sunroof panel like I have now! And I don't even use it!

well i kind of want a sunroof...but i also want to lighten my car....so i thought why not get a filler that pops out...so i ahve the best of both worlds

 

What parts do you need for it to work?? I will be taking out a sunroof assembly out of a parts car I just picked up so if your interested it would probably cost you less to fix your current one then try to put in a different one.
