Why don't you offer the person like $800?

Doesn't sound too bad, but I would look it over for a long time then tell the guy "I'll give you $500 cash right now." Let him take over from there, he might actually take it and make you wish you offered $400, or you might just go back and forth for a while till you still get it for under $1000.

this is how I would bid on car

- run a carfax if possible ( worked for me )
- figure the cost of front and rear windshield replacement ( these are safety issues)

I would start the bidding at what the cost of replacing the windows would run,you know your local regs better than me....if you can start with a number between $600.00-$700.00 great(dont lowball him,but feel him out..whats his motivation for selling.) Hell take your G/F,wife,sister etc...any female with you. They are not 'emotionally attached' to the car ( you want it,they dont) and they can see flaws that you cant.

$800.00 is a good bid ( $700.00 is better),Have fun and good luck, but be realistic if its the diamond in the rough...grab it

thats a lot of miles whether you're throwing in a new motor or not. think of all of the suspension compenents that can wear out and then think about driving on the freeway, etc....its up to you. but we cant say much since we cant see the car. use your best judgement but personally i'd talk him down if i did decide to go with it.

this is true i purchased a crx w/250k on it 2 months went by then **** stated breakin and getting wore out first wheel bearings, then calipers, the inner and outer tie rod ends, then lower ball joints then bushings in the rear all that in a matter of like 8 months

just make sure u check suspension, all ball joints,cv boots for rips, play in the wheel itself if u see anything wrong point it out to him them give him what u think its worth

good luck and dont make the wrong decision just my thought

but it still sounds like a deal to me

Ugh. I'd give him $400 for it... some of the cost to replace that stuff is expensive.

Hmmm Everyting but a couple of failed emissions tests checked out OK on carfax.
A lot of other potential buyers
I know, from what my gf translated, that he needs the $$$ for insurance on his truck (6 mo.) about 700
I really don't wanna pass up on this buy
clean overall body
Said since it looked like i really wanted it, he'd save it til the end of the week for me.
he said he knows some VapPancho(lol) that'll fix the rear window for $75
the front is still OK-a few cracks here and there but still in one piece-i was gonna replace it ASAP with the cashola left from my car
NO planned swap
Doing this one RIGHT from the ground up
1st-Wheels, tires and alignment
2nd-suspension goodies
3rd-EX Front brake swap and other brake goodies
4th-Paint& Bodywork
5th-Power up Baby!!!
