i am trying to figure out what brand cam i want to get for my a6.
i know that some of you have the crane cam in your a6.
crane is the only one that i haven't really heard anything bad about. and its the only brand new core stock cam that i know about.
webcam - ive heard

gude - ive heard

jg - ive heard

honda saver...if there cams are as good as the website
exospeed i havent heard anything bad about, but im iffy about a regrind anyways and id like to see the specs on it.
i dont know if there are any others?
where is a good place to get the crane cam from? i think that summit and jegs has them for like $330. where can i get the """"""stage 2"""""" cam (if thats what you want to call it) for a decent price? or is $330 a decent price?

crane is ungodly expensive...its about 450. I suggest looking into exospeed.com they're, well at least Wil is a cool guy, he's helped me out and answered my mundane repeative questions, and I ordered a race cam from him. I should get it at the end of this week, but i've got high hopes. The crane stage 3 is even less agressive than the exospeed race cam, from my calculations anyway. So try out exospeed.com. D series rawks
Ive had experience with a few cams out there... mostly regrinds of course.
Heres my take from personal experience.
Last year, I was running around with a JG 301 cam. Idle was fine, but it would stall out on HOT days. Power was ***, you really lose low end to gain a limited amount of power up top. JG is not worth the trouble in my opinion.
ive tried the more hefty JG 401 cam, car wouldnt even run the lobes were so huge. When it ran, it ran like crap.
Earlier last year, i aquired a Webcam. Low end is nice, but when 4500rpm hits.. it really pulls. Idle is near perfect like stock. Its the perfect grind to run on the street. It makes power all the way up to 7800rpm. Ive heard good things about the Exospeed and the Hondasaver cams, i want to give them a try sometime in the near future.

i think www.webcamshafts.com says they run $225.
thanks for sharing!
i have a crane stage 2 cam in my d16a6. it was 325 shipped brand new from http://www.jegs.com. it's a great cam! i did a complete write up on my site: http://www.geocities.com/slowmanef/d16a6cam.html I recommend it. and you get it at jegs, just search for 'Honda Camshaft' in their search area.
edit: the reason why the crane one is more $ than the rest is because it's a fresh cam, not a regrind.

Summit racing sells Crane Cams. They wanted about $400 for LS cams. So given the fact that you only need one cam, it should be quite a bit cheaper for a D16A6.
