horsepower question?
how do you convert CCs into horsepower for exmple how many horses does a honda 600 have?
For example, the Honda VT600 would be lucky to manage 45 hp at the rear wheel, while a current CBR600 is probably around the 105whp mark. It depends on what kind of engine, how it's tuned, what its intended purpose is, etc. If you've got a specific model and year in mind, I'm sure there's someone here who could give you an approximate HP figure.
i meant. i hear people at work andschool talkin about, i got a 700, i got a 1100. i wanted to, what do 600 and 1100 stand for? i was thinking
600=200hp
700=250hp
and so on!
600=200hp
700=250hp
and so on!
oh snap! from what i have learned in past few post , is that bike have around 100hp? so how are they faster than cars? i just want 2 learn alit bit more about bikes!... so a 1100 cc is 1.1 so a 700 is 0.7

Yes, exactly. Imagine something with the same power as a Civic pushing only 350-400lbs.
A single horsepower is actually quite a lot of power. Imagine approximately 100-130 of those pushing something so light as a bike. A bike is also RWD, has crazy gearing, and has crazy revving capabilities.
Stock 750cc bikes can easily do 10 second quarter miles and have top speeds of near (if not more than) 180mph.

THANK YOU SO MUCH .. U ANSWERed 80% OF MY QUESTION
you just cant do it like that. a harley can have 1400cc and be 50hp because HP is dependant on torque and rpm. and harleys dont rev high
there is a coorelation between torque and displacement, but you've demonstrated that an explanation of this wouldnt be much use to you.

so a 750 has about 100 hp
and a 1100 has....
and a 1100 has....
My 750 makes about 126hp in stock form. I'm sure the chip and pipe adds some as well.
