Default Coloring your interior, is it worth it?

I have a 97 civic. THe stock color of the interior is light grey, which I really hate. I am thinking about spray painting my interior to either dark grey or black. Have any of you guys painted your interior, if so how did it turn out? Does it last long, and does it fade or chip? Show me some pictures if you guys have some.

I would advise against painting anything that wasn't meant for paint. As "easy" as it may be to paint the interior, sometimes it is best to live with what you have or purchase a car with the color of interior that best suits your taste.

i think paint some certian items with the cabin of the car are okay to suit the tastes of the owner. but then there is just too much painting. if you entering your car in the next import showoff or something, then go ahead and do it.

back when i had my civic i painted the heater vents, the area surrounding the instrument cluster, and around my shift boot. it started chipping and i jus got plain tired of it. i work at a dealership so all i did wuz take the parts i painted, sprayed em black and swapped it with a used car on the lot haha . couldnt even tell haha

so if ur gonna spray ur interior, u better make sure u want em like that forever unless u want to buy new pieces to make it look stock again

How the hell is that a rice movve. If done right it will look mad good. My crx had all light blue interior. Looked mad gay...What u have to do. Is take out all your panels, i did everything including dash...Wash everythign down really well with soap and water. If you have an air compressorand gun, go to a paint supply shop and get vinal paint. If not they have vinal paint in spay cans. Take your time...IT sux to redue it. Do alot of light coats. But now if u dont go one solid color, and start mixing colors..then rice comes into consideration......If done right, it will look pimp.

i painted everything in my interior black, it took a while, but it looks really good, i used a clear coat w/ flex, so it will last a long time, looks better than stock in my eclipse but i probably wouldnt do it to a honda

I'd look around at someone elses car before you do it. I haven't seen it done very well personaly. I'd like to make my cars headliner black myself. But until I see a job that looks good in person I'm not gonna do it.

you guys are prolly talkin bout regular spray paint...if u use vinyl paint then it would look like you never painted it and it would look tight.

if it bothers you that much than do it, but you might regret it later on if you do..

i used to have a crx, and i painted all the gray parts black with vinyl paint.

it kept getting scratched by girls with their long finger nails opening the window, locking the door, getting the seat belt, etc, etc... also it wore out eventually on the door panels from rubbing against it. i had to keep re-spraying it every now and then.

hes not gonna paint it all gay colors, he jsut gonan convert it to black...im considering doing that with my tan ::vomits:: interior. i think id only paint the light tan parts tho, like, paint the light tan black and elave the dark tan with it....i dunno before i start worying about painting the INSIDE of my car i gotta get the outside done first. btw ive seen it done right and it looks good if you dont make stupid red+yellow crap lie that guy.

I would love to have a dark interior instead of a mix of cream, brown, and black, thanks to Honda. But if I were to paint my interior black, for example, I would have to change the seats because they are cream.
