I am going to use some CRV steelies on my Type R, and I am hoping the CRV rims won't weigh any more then what my Type R rims weigh. Does anybody know the weight of the ITR rims and the steelies?

 

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark...the steelies weigh more than your ITR aluminum rims.

I just got done lugging some CRV steelies around and they are definitely heavier than the stock wheels If you don't have a set yet let me know, I've got some for sale.

 

Well to give you an idea, the 14x5 steel wheels off my old 89 Camry weighed in at 21-22 lbs each, without tires. You can bet the 15x? CR-V wheels weigh at least as much as that if not more.

 

If you're getting Steelies then fashion and extreme performance aren't really all that important then.

They aren't so heavy that they'll impair your winter driving or handling thats for sure. As a matter of fact you probably won't notice a difference unless you get some heavy winter tires.

Are they really 6.5"? I've never seen an OEM wheel wider than 6". The V6 version of the my old car came with 15x5" wheels.

 

they are heavier than USDM's.....a lot heavier!

Yup, at least 20lbs. Probably more than that. Steelies are only good for interstate long-distance trips and winter/snow setup.

 

I have 15x6.5" ITR specific steelies (from tirerack) and they weigh 21 lbs each without tires... the CRV's are probably close to that - but it doesn't really matter when your'e driving on snow and ice =
