Default Bigger valves

I bought a spare head for my D16 and I am looking to build it up. I was going to install a cam, but I was wondering what the advantages of bigger valves are. I assume that when you install bigger valves that you need a bigger port to go with them right? Seems obvious but maybe I am missing something? Any thoughts on parts. Anyway make a good SOHC VTEC cam? Thanks

I would say do it if your going to step-up the displacement (stroker kit). The stock valve size is fine for stock stroke/bore. If I havd a B20Vtec I would oversize the valves. I don't like SOHC but I know some live by them.
