LOL, sometimes you just got to let the kids know who runs and pays for the site. I swear people treat these message boards like it's their right to use them or something.

 

 

I think this was a dumb move, a lot of interesting posts are in the members forum. There are about 100 good/interesting posts for every dumb one. To shut it down is in my opinion not a good thing overall for HT.

Rguy, who realizes a tech only site is usefull, but everyone needs talk about other stuff too.

I'm glad it's gone, there were about 300 retarded things you got percentage points knocked down for in that forum... and they were publish in some hidden thread about 3 years ago, so no one knows about it until you do it

Besides, every other post was "So my girlfriend..." or "I met a girl should I..." or "Is anyone a doctor I have a bump on my..." etc

I realize it's "his site, his rules," but I've gotten a lot of worthwhile information out of the members corner. Yes, the crap-to-useful ratio was a little biased towards the crap side, but still, there were some useful posts. No more home theater, computer or firearms threads to pique my interest

Ah well. Whatever.

It's not permanent, if that makes anyone feel any better.

I really liked the home theater, guns, and computer posts. I wish that everyone else was mature enough to be able to determine what is and what is not appropriate to post on an internet message board.

Agreed. Hence the "hoping for the trolls to leave". Then maybe it'll open back up for the people who use HT primarily for knowledge, and use MC for their place to get to know others better. Although.. this is mostly off-topic for you anymore since ur a b00sted-pig owner. But I understand and agree with what you say.. *shrugs* I'm just neutral to the whole situation.

 

dustin..can u get rid of the classifieds for ever? i think people should sell/buy/trade used/new parts elsewhere the best buy forum is all we really need but to many people scam and it kinda makes h-t look bad.

I did not really appreciate the 'group' of regulars that would invade many posts and take over. No, I'm not referring to anyone in this thread. For that matter, I'm not referring to anyone I have ever seen post in this forum. Those people were more exclusive than inclusive. All of the odd title changes and point dockings in there was bogus, too. I'm 100% dustin didn't have anything to do with all that, [edit]so please don't try to insinuate anything by my above statement.[/edit]

That said, there were some insightful arguements and interesting threads. Too bad we couldn't just filter out the bad and leave the intelligent. Oh wait, that's natural selection, or so it should be!
