Default removing OEM shift **** on 2k1 5spd

I wanted to specify my year civic in case it was different, but what is the formal way to remove the stock shift **** on a civic? is it as simple as a twist? Also, i ordered an RSX 5spd **** and i believe it fits.. anyone have any info? it'd be greatly appreciated!
thnx!

a good hearty twist to the left should do it.

you have to unclip the **** from the shift boot first by pushing down before you twist

I'm thinking an impact wrench and a breaker bar. If that won't make it budge than you have to remove the tranny and switch it with the appropriate shift ****...LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

J/K dude...Just freaken twist it off.

For everyone said to just twist, is WRONG. If u do that youll brake the clip that holds up the boot. U have to push down seperating the boot from the ****. Then u can twist off.
