how can u tell if your catalitic converter is clogged????

 

If it's clogged pretty bad your motor won't wind up at all... Almost to the point that it seems like your motor is really fucked up, as your rpm gets higher it gets worse... Your exhaust will his and sound kinda like a boosted cars exhaust... not as deep with more of a hisss... If you are in doubt drop off your exhaust and see if your car runs normal.. The first time I had ever seen this problem on my friend's VX w/ a Z6... It was running really bad... The car would barely go up a hill and I really had no clue what was going on.. Anyways he just stabbed on his car for like 30sec up this hill, normally you would be going pretty good but by that time we were only going prob ~40mph.. it then went POP all of a sudden and it sounded like the motor detonated... All was good after that tho... I'm telling you probably what the worst is but if you car has any symtoms like this then that's most likely your problem... You could probably just pull the cat and look through it, if it's really really hard to see through it then you'll most likely have some problems.... Peace

 

It will make your car feel like it has engine or transmission problems. Also, another symptom of a clogged cat is a funny smell after you turn it off if you're been driving for a while.

 

if you want more power too, hollow out the cat...
