can someone explain how a 2 step rev.limit works?
either 2 step or 3 step, will this help on my launch,(i got mad wheel spin)even using drag tires.the car is run on street, track is to far away
prevents spark at a specific rpm when the clutch is disengaged, or in other words when you are launching.
It will help you be more consistent, but nothing beats learning how to launch better without so many aids.

"2 step" and "3 step" are just names for having a second or third rev limiter. The first being your regular rev limit. Drag racers use the "2nd" rev limit to control the engine speed during the launch, a consistent speed is good. The "3rd' limiter is often used for the burnout, keeping the speed consistent in order to achieve a consistent tire temp.
if its run on the street and even Drag radials spin, launch at a lower RPM. if it bogs, feather the clutch. Are you heating the radials enough?
correct..........
There are few ways to go if you use a MSD box with built-in soft touch revlimiters.
1. Simple 2 ($60) or 3 ($70) step box and a handful of chips
2. Same 2 or 3 step with a RPM module selector (+$48) and no chips, adjustable in 200 rpm steps with range of module.
3. Launch Control Module Selector. Basically a 3 step that uses chips to set over-rev rpms and burnout rpms. BUT it is adjustable in 100 steps over a WIDE range.
They reason I'll likely go with #3, You can lower you launch rpm settings from drivers seat. Ever do a burnout/dryhop and wish you could get out and swap to a lower rpm chip for your launch?
Right hand goes click..click..click... then stage.
