Ok to use Intake Manifold nuts to hold Exhaust Manifold?
I'm just wondering, because i can't seem to find where i place the nuts for the exhaust manifold, but got lots of IM nuts. It's holding fine as of now, but haven't start up car yet. i know the exhaust manifold nuts has a design that prevents the nuts from loosening. with proper torque sequence & torque, the nuts designed for the intake manifold should hold the exhaust manifold fine, right?
I dont think it really matters. Worse that can happen is the manifold will fall off, get jammed somewhere under the car which will cause the car to veer off course and go over a cliff, sending you to a firey death below, all because you were too cheap to spend $5 on the correct bolts.
lol, you crack me up man.
you can indeed use them, I mean you could use anything... just be sure to check them often or the header will come right off, I mean the header handles a lot of vibration and stresses all the time, but its not as bad as suggesting using the wrong lugnut or wrong brakeline.
