Default Brake Rotor Replacements?

Its time for the brakes to be done on the R and while I would like to do the brembo brake set up, right now its kind of steep. What do any of you recommend other than stock? I am getting tired of cleaning the rust of the inside of my rims and the rust around the middle of the rotor looks like sh$.

Apart from the 'rust' issue.... is there any other reason you don't want to fit OEM ones again?! Cause if it's only the rust, then simply buy yourself a can of 'brake caliper' paint (anything that can handle heat) in your choice of colour (I chose 'flat black'), remove the wheels, spray the offending area of disc & the caliper.... then you're good for about 6 or so months!!

NOTE: Don't be too concerned about any overlap onto the discs; as that'll soon rub/burn off, once you apply the brakes!

I too are in the market for some new front discs and are looking @ either the OEM ones again (as they've served me well for 126,000 kms + 10 track days), Spoon, EBC, DBA (Australian company) or Brembo. Don't be fooled, the Brembo discs are not that steep in price; as it is the quality/build of calipers, that makes their brake kits expensive.

When it comes down to it.... most discs are designed/built very similar and it's the brake pads, lines, caliper & fluid - that really determines your braking capability. Also don't buy x-drilled, as the cheaper (ie non Brembo, Ferrari or Porsche) discs are prone to heat-cracking near the holes = nasty!

Good luck mate....

stocks barely dust compared to others. Heard good things about Axxiss Ultimates and Andie at Cobalt is giving a discount to ITRCA/Expo participants.

We might have a new sponsor soon that is a OEM Brembo rotor supplier that can get us some deals.

Thanks for the help. I'll probably paint them this week and see how that goes.
