Default Getting my greddy kit....i have a few questions

Hi everyone..i am going to order the greddy kit for my civic ex(sohc vtec) so far this is what i am getting and will be leaving it this way until i am ready to upgrade...i will be running this with the blue box until im ready to ditch it...does this seem like everything that i will need to run it safely and to keep tabs on it?I want to run this kit for atleast a year with no problems if i keep the boost at 7psi until the funds are enough to let me upgrade to hondata. What do you guyz think...missing anythign essential? Or do i have what i need to make it what i want it for now? Sorry for the redundancy..but im very excited and wanted to get everythign right the first time.

Khoi

6. greddy EGT gauge
7. greddy fuel pressure gauge

Hey Khoi, it is me Justin. im here in OKC if you need any info or help on your build up on the SOHC. I am living proof that you can run 12psi on these little SOHC's and make good power. Good luck and feel free to call me anytime with your questions and concerns.

So long as you atleast run the blue box, use the parts you listed, and change you fluids at the right intervals there is no reason why your motor shouldn't last at least a year so long as it's currently in good condition.

Congrats and welcome to the boostside

Yea.. fuel.

Get a set of RC or DSM's with an AFC and be happy. Worked for me..

If you have the money, spring for RC's, they will be NEW, CLEANED and balanced. Plus they don't need an external resistor or any clip modification. Go with a 440... gives you more potential for the future boost levels.

12psi can be done on the AFC hack, but it's really pushing it... your stock MAP sensor would be at it's voltage limits and that's not too good. IMO, stay around your 7psi level for now. Alot of people run boosted sohc's on stock bottom ends with great results and lots of tuning.

Listen to VTC_CiViC (aka VTC_boostless_CiViC), he's the original MAKURAGI. (Biters Suck...)

.. stock sohc.. 10psi daily, 12 on occasion and over 200whp on the hack... nuff said.

Well for now..i just want to run the blue box and leave it alone at 7psi...after more funds roll in..i'll ditch the blue box and get injectors and hondata....but as of now...i just want to run 7psi and leave it be with the blue box......so in this case, do i have everything that i will need to make this successful and reliable?

ngk...thats the part number they gave you. I would jut leave the boost at 5.5 -6psi w/ the blue box. That way you can just buy an EBC when the time comes to up the boost and fuel system.

Well..i was plannign to run 7psi with the blue box, a 255 intank walbro pump, and an FPR to lean out the mixture a little bit....because chances are...its going to run overly rich..and i dont' want to throw a code from that...

i wanted to get the pump because i dont' trust the blue box...i heard it has holes down the board and leans out...so the fuel pump is piece of mind for me

I know. I would never run the blue box period, but if I did i would run a fuel pump.

What I was trying to say was that there is two types of Walbro 255lph fuel pumps. A high pressure unit and a low pressure one. I reccommend not getting the high pressure unit if you plan on running the blue box or larger injectors/EMS in the future.
