Default Painted Taillghts

I know it sounds ghetto, but it turned out looking ok. I had my '96+ clear taillights just sitting around collecting dust and I sure as hell couldn't sell them. I used the Testors Candy Apple Red transparent Spray paint and masked them real good. Voila Half red/Half clear

I plan on getting some clear tails for my 'teg later and painting them candy apple too...I'll either paint the whole thing or paint everything except for turn signals & reverse lenses.

HA! I got a ticket too. That's why I painted them. There're not perfect, but who cares.

When you say you "masked off" the lights, did you put masking tape around the area you were going to paint?

Well not exactly masking tape, but packing tape. I put the tape straight across the line that divides the top half and the bottom half. Make sure it's flat so paint doesn't get underneath. Then take some old newspaper and lay that over the half that's NOT getting painted and tape them. Spray paint as much as you want, light, heavy. Sit the lights upside down to dry. That way the paint doesn't drain down over the tape and onto the newspaper and get on the clear side.

Oh, OK, so you remove the tailights from your bumper?? Because I heard that you can do it without removing the lights from your bumper.
