how difficult would it be to take apart the rack?

Just had thoughts of putting the ITR steering rack gearing into an SiR rack if that is possible at all?

The rack ratios from 98 to 00/01 are not even the same. Not sure the other Integras but I think a little research would be in order.

 

I have searched and found nothing...anyone have any info on this?

This gives the ratios for the 98 vs 2000/01. I did not mean to imply you didn't research enough but meant we would need to dig up info on non R's. I got the info on the R's from the 98 and 2000/2001 brochures after Matt at Hondata and I were discussing differences and he pointed it out.

 

how would I go about obtaining a 2000/2001 rack? Im sure acura would want a grip for it. are rebuilt ones available from steering/suspension shops available?

Would this upgrade even be worth my time? Im planning on upgrading my brakes and sway bars to ITR stuff...so should I do the rack too?

Edit #2: Yup...its not cheep...$431 new from acura...thats not even going to be an options...so are rebuilt units available? Does anyone have one they would want to sell me by chance?

i'll check my helm but last time i checked i didnt see any difference between R and not.
So its most likely a model wide change and not R specific.
