just lowered my gsr strange noise when turning need some insight
just got my gsr and I am running h&r sports on stock shocks. I know its ghetto but im poor and i got the springs for free. anyway, whenever I make a hard turn (wheel cranked almost all the way) there is a sort of whining/buzzing noise coming from the front. I was told the power steering works harder on a lowered car but Im looking for some second opinions. thanks
im thinkin tires rubbing, but thats not likely with h&r sports, iono chech your car make sure that there is nothin stuck under there. sorry if i couldnt help
thanks, I thought about that but Im not sure its rubbing. my friend had them on his car and he said it didnt rub. I could be wrong about them being the sport springs, they might be race. They told me they were sport but my car is pretty slammed. I have no gap at all...

the reason you hear whining/buzzing noise coming from the front is because your car is too low and your tires are rubbing against the fender lining.
turn your wheel all the way to one side, then get out of the car and double check to see if you are rubbing anywhere... but even if the wheel looks like its almost gonna rub, could mean that you will when u actually drive... the H&R sports are softer then some of the other springs... so... check.
ok, it doesnt seem to rub when the car is stopped but it could be different when taking faster turns. Im just running some stock 14 inch steelies from a civic right now the tires are 195/60/14.

check the inner fender/splash guard... my car was lowered approx 1.8"-2" and I had 205/45/16's.. on a full lock to lock (turned all the way left or right) if I did a quick U turn or a full lock to lock it occasionally rubbed the inner fender splash guard against the inner edge of the tire...
hmm, on my 98 integra i have H&R sports and KYB AGX, with stock wheels and 195/55/15 tires and i sometimes get a little rubbing when i turn the wheel to almost all the way.
if you're not sure which H&R's you have color is the best thing. white= OE replacement, black=sport, red=race at least thats how it is for 94+ integra

i have H&R sports and I unfortunately get tire rub just slightly when i make hard right hand turns... im still on stock struts/shocks..im hoping new shocks will solve this
I have no rubbing at all on my H&R Sports. However, I remember, the rear passenger side spring used to hit/rub against some metal, like the exhaust or something when the spring flucuated. (like when a heavy person sat on the passenger side, I would hear it if I was outside the car. However, the sound went away after a while.
