instead of using ball bearings these use a tapered roller bearing that are way more durable. you can order them on http://www.quartermax.com.

if you also want to be creative.. you can get the really hard street roller blade wheels...
for the roller blade wheels, 88a or harder, made more for speed-skating and hockey. They wear the slowest.
And Ceramic Sealed ABEC 7 or 10 bearings if you can find them

we used to run the skate board wheels for about 2 years with no problems but as speed increases, i don't recommend them. roller blade wheels might be ok for a little bit but really everyone should look into upgrading to something that is designed for handling speed and heat. also the skate board ball bearings as well as roller blade bearings were never made to spin 100 mph...

I remember our first wheel setup though. They were the crappy rubber wheels u get with the jegster kit. We were at a crappy track to test and tune. Its a v8 track...you have to back into the water box. I got a big chunk of rubber stuck in between the wheel and the bar. So when I launched the car...they wheel wouldnt move and it just skided. So I shifted out of first into second....same thing. I could actually feel the car dragging something like the e brake was on. Sure enough after I costed off the track and went on the return road...a big hunk of rubber was in there from burnouts pilled up against the back wall that I backed into. The pass after that was ok...but a big chunk of wheel broke off just cause it sucked ***.

Plus when you buy them as one bigger then the other, you can cheat. You can preload the one wheel while other other still spins when they check it

When I first used them four years ago, id use them as weapons.
I used the cheapy Jegs hard caster type with no bearing and by mid track at 100 mph+ they would melt away and just shoot off the end of the bar. I had two guys tell me that they almost smacked the windshiled.
I figured then it was time to step up to the bearing type.
