How many of you have been driving along minding your own business and had a cop pull you over and ask you to pop your hood? Have you ever been asked to pop your hood because the cop spotted your IC? I just wanted to get a feeling of how common it is out here for that to happen.

 

well when i had my old turbo civic i had gotten pulled over about 3-4 times. twice for modified exhuast but that was pretty dumb cuz i was running open dp, and once or twice for illegal lights, but never was i asked to pop my hood.

 

Cool.

my FMIC is clearly visible, but they (CHP, Sherriffs, police) just kind of stare at my car. They could pull me over for no front license plate, but I've been lucky. *crosses fingers* They probably think it's just a shiny riceboy radiator or some ****.

Thanks a lot. Now that I've written this post, imma gonna get pulled over tomorrow and be sent to the state smog referee.

 

just don't give them a reason to pull you over.
stay away from the organized street races... and popular cruising areas...

and have a front license plate... zip tie it, tape it, whatever.... just make sure it's on your front bumper.
it's just another reason for them to pull you over.

 

I got my hood popped by the OC sheriff. Despite my dp nos, b20 block, no carb header, and no cat the only thing he wrote me up for was my intake. I think thats the only thing he knew to check. Either way I got a ref ticket and had to swap for a stock motor for the sign off at the ref.

 

I had my hood poped once. I got a ticket for an intake.

He didn't notice the motor was different.

But when I install my turbo. The FMIC will be black for sure.

 

i got asked to pop my hood and i woulda got away with it had i had my carb sticker on the intake
