BOV Question

On the top of my BOV it has a nut to adjust Hard or Soft, what does this mean? What is the difference between the two settings? Would either one work better with an auto trans?

that adjusts how easy it is to make the bov go off... you want it to not leak boost, but always go off.. somebody can probably explain it better
