Rattling Rear Shelf
Hey, I have two 6 3/4" Pioneer top of the lines in my back shelf of my '86 Prelude Si. I bought them because they are excellent speakers for bass, and almost sound as good (and loud) as a small sub. They can handle it too.
But my question is this:
The guys who installed the speakers (it's a long story), simply drilled screws through the mounting bracket down into the sheetmetal of the car. I am constantly "tightening" them, as they start to move around after producing alot of hard bass.
Even after tightening it, the rear shelf rattles like crazy. I've tightened everything possible, but the flimsy sheetmetal just isn't stiff enough to stop the rattles. Right now about 1/4 - 1/2 of my bass is unaudible due to rattling.
Is there any way, (outside of dynamat), to fix this? I'm on a seriously low budget, and I was wondering if there was some sort of homemade dynamat alternative.
Thanks guys!!!

Wild shot, as I throw some ideas out.
Will a nut on the other side of the screw help to tighten it?
And also, will added a rubber seal washer on the screw help it from rattling?

Yes, that helps keep the screws tight, but the rear shelf still rattles like crazy. Is there some sort of cheap installation material I can buy at a hardware store that would keep it from shaking so much?
