Question about DRAG only Rear SPRINGS. (jim, jason, all you help me out here)
Hey guys i started my project back up my crx. But screw it I have another car for daily driving so this car is only going to see the track. SO I dont care about if its unconfy i dont care if its rough. Help me pick out something THAT WILL HELP MY CAR HOOK and prevent weight transfer.
So far im ordering Jimfab bars, Quaife lsd, ordering my new hooisers.
WHAT are you big name tire racers using for rear springs AND Shocks?
Where is that picture for that Stange engineering rear suspension (i searched and couldnt find), anyone has specs or prices on it ??
I was also looking into using 900 psi skunk2 springs and mate them with a koni adjustable shocks that have a small travel like 1 inch.
I really want that info on strange eng though.
SO What you guys using. Please post your 0-60 foot times also.

if ur running wheelie bars ur gonna want a soft rate so the bars take the transfer of weight ..essentialy creating the longe wheel base...200lb spring rate sound right guys?
for non bar'd cars...850+ sounds like a good number for the rates. naturally the more hp u make will dictate a harder rate. i had a set of ground controls w/ special rates...550 front and 850 rear..for the track

I have heard that if you want to run that high of a spring rate you need to have the shocks revalved, they are not set up for any more than a 3 or 4 hundred pound springs... can anyone else confirm, and elaborate??
I am looking to do something like this myself, but am thinking more along the lines of TIEN..

wheelie bars are out of the question. Anyone have that information on the Strange Engineering setup? Jinx what kinda 0-60's were you pulling with that setup? Anyone else using the skunk2 setup? ALSO what front spring rates were you using?? I thought it would be good to have like a 350 - 400 spring rate up front but some people argue that i should have the front almost as stiff as the rear. WHAT OTHER LIMITED TRAVEL SHOCKS ARE THERE (1 inch to 1 1/2 inches) ???

If there was a way to quick disconnect the wheelie bars i would. But two reasons why is sport nhra sport FWD PROHIBITS wheelie bars. And my garage wont fit the car with em
I use the drag launch skunk2 springs with agx shocks. works good for me on the street. i havent been to the track yet so i dont know what it will run for 60ft's.
from what i have gathered over heard etc....you dont want too soft that you set too much weight on the bars....because this could cause the car to get out of shape on the top end. This was from a reputable and fast crew of a fast FWD car....... 9.2 and quicker car. any other opinions out there. because the wheels on the bars are so hard that they skate.....just like doing a power slide on your skateboard with 95a+ wheels.....haha this was an example

Exactly. I know of 4-5 people using cheap coilovers and stock struts cutting 1.6-1.75 60fts.
