Default 60-1/T3 Boosted B16A at the track...

I just got back in from the track.. I drove Mayhem Racing's turbocharged 00 Si.

It was a pretty hairy ride, the car is in desperate need of suspension tuning. but I managed to get it down the track a couple of times.. They are still running the stock Si tranny and even with the 9500rpm shiftpoints there is still need to shift to 5th. I wasnt anticipating the 5th gear shift and wasnt able to do it in a decent time so the trap speed is very low. All in all I think everyone was pleased.

60' 1.751
330' 4.750
1/8 7.136
mph 102.59
1000 9.183
1/4 10.903
mph 127.40

The runs were made with the passenger and rear seats removed as well as the stereo system.. Unfortunately the scales werent working and I wasnt able to weigh the car. The altenator starting to lock up so we called it a night. Not too bad for a lil street coupe.

WOW.......that's impressive! Do you know what tranny they are lookin at in replacement? 5th gear is a drag. I have a B16 tranny now but this is making me rethink it, my shifts are at 8,200 so 5th is gonna be inevitable.

They will most likely go with the LS. the passes were made on 24.5in MTs. If the car wasnt still driven on the streets they would probably get larger slicks and flare the fenders.. but they still cruise it around on 18s.

Sleeper! I'll bet that's fun.
I wouldn't hesitate to mess with a car rollin 18's around here. They usually have clear taillights and LED washerlights to go with em'. lol

Curious if that makes it the fastest 99-00 Si? I wonder what it would run on the 18's

Congrats Jason, this is old school though. You've been running 10's in a street car since i've known you! You went 10.9 back in the day with your hatch. How long ago was that? Good job bro

thats very strange, they needed 5th. with a 9500 rev limit, i can't imagine needing it. run a 25" slick and you won't need it. or a 9800 rev limit. i had a 9800 rev limit and 25" slicks and went through the traps @ like 8500.

nice times.

yeah same here, i calculated it out and at 9500 rpm you should see 145 mph out of it with 24.5 inch slicks

nice times! i'm also surprised that you needed to use 5th gear, but i'm not much of a strip person so maybe that's why. i know 5th gear is used on the N/A cars normally but i didn't think the turbo cars hit 5th like that.

very good times, but hitting revlimit with b16, thats odd. I wonder if the clutch was slipping up top?I ran a b16 s1 trans, I know it should be close to a 99 si tranny, with 24.5 inchers I hit 139 at 9500. when I went to 25's I hit 145 then I had to raise the rev limit.I wonder if 4th is geared shorter, I would not switch to a ls, it would kill a b16 with no torque. 10.9@127 is great, sounds like you made the most out of the track.Congrats

I went and look this up with 9500 rpm redline, and 24.5 inch slick's jdm vs us spec
b16 94-01 b16 jdm s1
gears ratio
1st 3.230 3.250
2nd 2.105 2.052
3rd 1.458 1.416
4th 1.107 1.103

top speed 142.2 142.7

very close to me hitting 139 with my s1, so I wonder if the clutch was slipping? just weird, what do you guys think?
Jason
