PM3-9...PM3-8, whats the difference? somebody clear up these head code numbers for me.

tell me if i am wrong. and sorry for the stupid question, i couldnt find the answer.
2 stamps between 3&4 exhaust -
PM3 is the d16a6 head. whats the number after that mean(-8 or -9)? and also is the little circle stamp next to that the year it was manufactured? both my heads have an 8/8 (so 1988) stamped next to the PM3-#
stamps between 1&2 exhaust -
3 round stamps with various numbers - i have no idea what they are for!!!

nobody knows what these code numbers on the head mean???

-9 = ?? i thought that its the factory, but im not sure
