hey guys, I'm hearing knocking (clock-clock-clock) sounds when I brake hard. There are no sounds under normal braking, but only when I brake somewhat hard. I took off the wheel and checked the brakes, cv boot, and axles, and I found nothing wrong. no grease or brake fluid leaking, and no cracks in the boot either. btw, it's a 96 accord. what else should i look for? thanks.

i also checked the end axle nut, and that is tight. would it be loose brake pads?

 

Anything in your trunk that could be making that noise? My car makes noises when I brake hard, too. That's because I have my stock intake, and the little foghorn thingy I removed from when I installed my DC Sports intake recently, in my trunk. Too lazy to go put that stuff in my shed.

rotors and brakes aer el' junko. mine are..does the same ****..only under hard braking from higher speeds.

 

naw, it's not my trunk. you can totally hear it in the front when you brake. perhaps it's the brakes? maybe it's time for an AEM big brake upgrade. hehe.

 

it's probably just your ABS kicking in. does your brake pedal push back when you hear this noise?

i'm seriously considering removing mine for the same reason. it seems to be a bit too sensitive and it doesn't give you good pedal feel when it's activated. feels panicky and just not an overall good feel to the car.

 

yeh it should be the abs. it makes your brake pulsate so you hear a knocking sound and the pedal pushes back at you. i dont see why you should take it off
