Were 1991 Civic Si's supposed to come with power steering? When I picked it up, the guy said Si's never came with it, but I thought that was strange because my co-workers 1988 Accord has it.

 

haha that is wierd, but nope... no power steering for us. i like it tough... the power of an Si w/o the added weight of power steering, brakes, locks, windows.

 

my 91 Si was more stripped down than my R
- no power anything
- no AC
- no radio or antenna

Haha yeah that was weird to me too...no power locks or windows, but a power moonroof. I DO have A/C though!! Thanks guys...

 

I took the power steering out of my 95 si. for power steering.

Okay, I guess you've never driven a car with power steering.

 

Power steering isn't necessary on them...

I mean, on a big pick-up truck the only way to steer without P/S is to gear the steering rack to the point where you'd have to turn the steering wheel 360 degrees 10 times to turn a normal corner.

But with Cars as light as the civic/crx, it wouldn't be worthwhile.

 

For a crx/civic true. Since the cars are so light its not difficult and gives good feel for the road. But power steering is a luxery and I love on my other car. Would ahve it any other way.

 

My 91 Si had 4 speaker Cassette stereo, mudflaps, sunroof w/ visor, floormats, manual steering, manual locks, and manual windows.

 

Past 5mph I don't need powersteering, but it does get kinda tuff when I want to coast into a parking spot and the car is barely moving.

 

Nah the only Si's that came with p/s and a/c that i know of are the white ones (factory) i have a black Si hb and no p/s or a/c. accord came with them coz their higher class honda

 

Sorry but color doesn't designate whether or not it has P/S. If its an automatic then it has p/s.

p/s is barely noticable on the 4gs anyways.

 

...but they never offered an automatic Si so again that theory about p/s is still wrong in the first place.

The LX and EX 4-doors had power steering though.

 

if your bitching about the lack of power steering on a crx/civic just grow stronger
