OK, I know that b series trannys are pretty interchangable; but, will a 1st gen (cable) b16 tranny bolt up & work w/ a b18c? or, will there be issues bv/c of the hydro to cable.

 

it will bolt right up to the motor

 

just make sure to match the clutch disk to the splines on the trans. Other than that, cake.

 

all b series motor trannys bolt up. check the clutch splines though. IMHO Ls trannys sucks. their gears are short. b16 trannys are better b/c the gears are longer and the are better for vtec. but the best tran for the job would have to be a GSR trans. but like i said..IMHO

 

Sorry, you've got it backwards. LS gears are long, B16A tranny gears are short. Your best bet would be an S1 or J1, or if you want LSD a JDM YS1 (CRX SiR). If you really want to go nuts convert to hydraulic and run a European Type R tranny: 4.8+- gears

 

i was thinking b16 b/c of shorter gearing so faster acceleration. & if teh 1st gen tranny will bolt up i won't need a cable to hydro setup. thanks ya'll.
