My friend just got scammed by: "rexracer88si". His real name is Kenneth Heath He bought some del sol seats that are totally fuc%ed! He told him that they were in good condition!

I tried to contact him, but he never replied. My other friend ended up talking to him via email, and he obviously isn't going to try to fix the problem.

The seats weren't damaged during shipment because the boxes that the seats came in are fine. He obviously got the seats out of a junkyard from a car that had fire damage.

We are aware that we may have to end up taking legal action, but I'm curious if anyone knows this guy, or has been in the same situation. We also have his complete name and address, and his location isn't TOO far from us (about 8 hours). So we can also take a trip over there. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

if you paid with credit card in any way exaple via paypal, you can get your money back, just call the number on the back of the card, and tell them the situation, they will refund your money and go after the bastard.... thats what i had to do once, worked like a charm

Here's an update on what has been discussed today:

My friend paid $260 shipped for the seats.
He said that he'll give him back $200 AFTER my friend ships the seats back. On top of that, he says that my friend will have to pay for shipping.

Is this BS or what?!

So, we're going to see what the credit card company can do for him. If that doesn't solve it, then he's going to take legal action.

Bottom line: buying things from someone over the internet is EXTREMELY risky.

I hope this doesn't happen to any of you.

Try to keep transactions local unless you have time to travel.

...but about the legal action thing, i doubt anything is going to happen for $260. i think the value has to be like 2 grand or something for the cops to do anything. ive tried filling out fraud reports and they are a complete waste of time. good luck though.
