Default what is Si short for...

does anyone know what this actually is short for? I was thinking special edition, but that just isnt an I...

anyone got an answer to this? also is it true Si's cost more for insurance than say a DX or HF?

Sports Injected

and no they dont.. its like having a higher trim level... car insurance dont look or pay attention to that... they go for yr, engine, and type car...

I dont think its sport injected. I think its sport inspired.
cause all of the 92+ civics were MPFI, and i I believe the intakes were then same throughout the different trim levels, and they have Si's too.
not sure about this, its just what I heard. I used to think it was sport injected before I heard this

I thought CRX was short for Civic Racing eXperimental??Dunno, just what I read somwhere.

And yeah, si = Sports injection as far as I know as well.

do you mean 4th gen?? cause then the Si's had the MPFI unlike the DX&gt; but with the 5th gens+, I dunno why it would mean sport injected cause all the models were mpfi then.

Si does mean sport injected. it started with the older preludes, most being carbed, but honda put fuel injection on them (i think) around 86. that was when they came up with the acronym Si.
