HELP!!! I have warranty problems...
I am in trouble right now, but it is by no fault of my own. Here's the scoop: I bought my bike brand new from kawi 6 months ago, everything was fine up until recently, when the motor started running on only 1 cylinder!!! So I took it to the dealer to try and get it fixed and showed them receipts from all the oil and stuff that I bought from THEM!!! At first they said it might be neglect, but thats bullshit and they know it, but then they called me back and said that because I had my valves adjusted by suzuki that it is not under warranty and the valves caused the problems. They say there is pretty much no compression on one of the cylinders and they were saying the valves were really tight...
So, I called up suzuki, and they said that this particular shop has tried to put the blame on them before and it didnt work out for kawi, and that even if the valves were "too tight" they wouldnt blow up a motor. They are being really cool about it too, and said they would even check out my bike for free!
I am in the military too, and this might present some problems, as I will be getting new orders in march...so I talked to the sgt. and he told me to talk to jag? So I set up an appt with this jag and it is on february 3rd.
I am stumped at what to do? I think kawi is full of **** and I wish I could give the bike back somehow and get my money back for this complete crap.

Why would they send you to Suzuki when you got a Kawi? Funny how they dick you over after you buy the bike from them, huh? Sorry
I just talked to both of them and I got some answers, but not good ones. The kawi manager told me that the valves were all tight and what not, and that he didnt even talk to kawi yet, because he says "i dont even wanna talk to kawi about warranty work wiht this problem staring me right in the face" and the suzuki guy told me that this is bullshit and that there is no reason that they shouldnt fix it, because they will get $$$ regardless.
This really sucks for me, because if you seen any of my posts about my car, I just got it back after having it down for a long time, and it cost me alot of money, and I am just trying to get everything back on track and this happens!!!
Well I got a lawyer and will see what happens over the course of next month...

Suzuki and Kawi are basic the same company. They use a lot fo each other's parts.

There has to be another Kaw dealer some place else in your neighborhood. Push, pull, or drag it to another Kaw dealer. Inside your owners manual are the contacts on how to get assistance from Kawasaki corp or start looking on the web. Ignore this poor excuse for a dealer and find another. After it's fixed, revisit said poor dealer and SHOW him how full of **** he was.

Heres what he told me the other day : "I dont even wanna talk to kawi about warranty work, until the valves are adjusted right, I just cant do it with this big problem staring me right in the face, and even when they are fixed, I cant even guarantee that its gonna be warranty work..." "i'm not trying to pull you around, and/or rip you off, so dont think that...
WHAT A CROCK!!!
So what I am gonna do tomorrow (closed today) is go over there and ask him nicely to call up kawasaki regaurdless of this "problem with valves" if he has to, and fix it under warranty, and that I am not gonna pay 200 for him to tell me it is not under warranty, and that I dont want there to be anymore problems over bullshit and that the bike IS under warranty and I will leave it at that. Meanwhile I will look around for the phone number for kawasaki and give them a call and let them know the situation. Hopefully they will help me, because I have an appt with a lawyer in a couple of weeks and I want it to be resolved by then...
I now know never to buy from them again though, next time I will goto another dealership. Its just that nobody else had 250's
But I've rode the **** outta that bike, 6000 miles in 6 months with 2 months of downtime
So the next bike will be a turbo busa......haha j/k

Consumer Services
If you have any questions, comments, complaints regarding Kawasaki or Kawasaki products, contact our consumer services department and they will endeavor to find the answer. Our hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm Pacific Time.
If you have a product concern which may be time sensitive, we highly recommend calling Kawasaki Consumer Services at 949-460-5688. An example would be if your Kawasaki product is currently at a Kawasaki dealer for repairs and assistance is desired.
Call kawasaki and tell them what this dealer is doing to you. If you complain enough and tell them you are shipping out I am sure it will be taken care of. Get the names, dates and times that you spoke with people at both dealers. Ask for the manager at the kawi place to provide in writing that the valves are too tight.
Good luck dood.

powersports dealers rank lowest among dealers. Even lower than dedicated used car lots. Now you know, pass it on
Turns out that the guy who told me all the bull was the service manager, but I went in today and got the number and address of kawasaki, but he was sick and will be gone until thursday, so I am gonna mail in a letter and copies of my receipts to kawi.
Yeah I seen it thanks, I just didnt fell like backspacing it out
I am gonna make copies of all the docs and mail it out asap

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
Well good news, good news indeed!
It turns out that the service manager at monterey powersports, was ripping off lots of people and was fired. Turns out that monterey powersports never even got in contact with kawasaki, and said it would cost 1500 or so, and they charged me 200 to look at the bike, and didnt even put it back together, (it would be another 100 bucks)
So with the help of my dad and his wife, they were able to get the bike and take it to the dealership in fresno and he told them what had happened. Well in fresno they checked out the bike and actually got in contact with kawasaki. The dealership said that the head in fact was messed up and it was a manufacturers defect, so I am getting the bike fixed for free!!! I am now just waiting for the parts and to have all the work done.
Too bad I wont be able to ride it soon, the bike is in CA and I'm in TX at the moment, and then I'll be off to Germany right after. But I'll have the bike shipped over to Germany probably.
Just thought I would let you guys know what happened.
And I was told that I will get my money back from the Monterey dealer also, since they were wrong in all sorts of ways.
