Mickey Thompson Slicks on lightweight 15" rotas possible on street car or just dumb?
not sure on what size the slicks are but they are on 15" rota c8's, i was wondering if smaller slicks are streetable or would I be replacing them soon or is this idea just plain dumb? (or mount slicks on stock steelies for a sleeper look?) i have 75 shot zex, and traction is a problem
and the shop is selling these for around $300 almost brand new w/ the c8 rims.
lemme know!
thanks,
mike

they might last a week of daily driving, with no hard launches, just get good STREET tires and learn how to drive it
slicks arent meant in any way for the street. for one they arent street legal, for no apparent reason except maybe they get squirrely under wet conditions, except the pure stupidity of it being that they cost a ton of money as opposed to regular street tires, if you are trying to learn slicks at the track but dont have anything else to roll on put the slicks on the rims that you want to mount them on and put on some 13" steelies or somethin like that but dont run slicks on the street.
i remember back in like '93 there was a guy in so cal that ran slicks on his crx on the street, there were actually quite a few street racers running slicks on hte street
