Crx master brake cylinder what else fits
I've got the 15/16ths MC from the '89 Prelude on my '89 CRX. Normal Si with rear drums has a 13/16ths MC and the disc brake '90-91s had a 7/8ths. The Prelude MC came with a larger volume reservoir cup well because the larger bore used more fluid.

how much of a difference did swaping the MC do? what other brake upgrades have you done?

i am pretty sure that I have seen some peeps on here saying that the Teg booster and master cylinder Will indeed fit... not trying to be a search nozi but you might find something in there, but can anyone one else verify if not...

I even posted this in the EG forum when they were having their discussion about civic ex masters and the mod deleted my post because he didn't believe me...whatever.
The reason the teg doesn't fit is the bracket is the opposite way thats why you have to get the booster too...if you aren't into the hassle just buy a aftermarket 89 prelude master and it bolts up with no problem. Here in Canada a 89 prelude master from UAP auto parts costs around 120 canadian.
91 civic EX, not POSITIVE this fits CRX... but I think it should bolt up (it does for 88-91 civics)
I agree with 89civicdx, I see no reason to use the Integra MC (don't know the bore) and power booster as the '89 Prelude MC does just fine with my 210,000 mile CRX power booster for street and track. Maybe it sounds cooler if you say Integra rather than go by the actual capabilities regardless of what it came from.
I changed to the larger rotors and calipers from the '91 Civic EX (same as the Integra!) and EBC Greenstuff pads for street and track. If you change to the larger calipers without changing you MC, you'll have a very low pedal and not very good feel. Going to the big MC gave it a nice high pedal and good feel. It has much better bite and better lock down kind of feel but it still doesn't have the big anchor feeling of German brakes like a BMW but a darned sight better than standard Honda brakes. I am sure some of these many thousand dollar aftermarket conversions would be better but I got the calipers and spindles from a junk yard and fresh rotors, pads and MC. I'd be surprised if this upgrade cost more than $300 total and I needed new pads and rotors at the time anyway. The only disadvantage is that they are too big to mount my 13 inch rims with my snow tires so 14s are the minimum.
The rear disc brakes for the '90-91 CRX Si are the same as the '90-93 Integra and the '91 Civic EX. I have all the parts to do that conversion but didn't. I have done the conversion from rear drum to disc on a previous CRX racecar and don't feel that there was any braking improvement at all, especially in trade for the labor to swap it and also having to swap out to the disc/disc brake proportioning valve. The rear discs don't require a periodic adjustment that the drums do to keep them at full snuff but the rear pads are so small that I feel the larger material area of the drum is as good or better. Also, the drum package is 8 lbs lighter and it is all unsprung weight. If you do the swap, you must change the prop valve or your bias will be funky and braking incorrect. I melted two brand new $150 Hoosier race tires to the cords in a lockup before the mold nipples were worn away. That was an expensive lesson in proportioning.

hey, i just bought an 89 prelude s master cylinder and im gonna put it in the car and i'll let you know how that goes in a while. i have an 89 crx dx. i used front rotors and calipers from a 92 teg rs and i want to have good feel with the larger brakes because theres still lots of ice here in alaska, and i wanna be able to feel when i lock up my tires

OK so the only thing you have to replace is the Master Cylinder to get the bigger bore correct?? There is no need to change out the brake booster right?
