i was at a junk yard today and there was a 92 hatch sittin there, it had the cluster like my 93 si but the redline was 6,000...... i thought the only 5 speed hatches that came with tachs are the si and vx??? this was a dx motor, no vtec or vtec-E engine?? also how much do these things go for, if anyone wants it i could go and get it for them for a certain lil fee

 

tach came in EX, Si, VX and optional on some DXs

EX and Si got 7200rpm redline
VX got the 6000rpm redline
DX got 6500rpm redline

prices for clusters (usdm) range in $75-125 range

 

In the U.S the DX never had a tach.

Only hatches with a tach were Si with the 9000rpm number and the VX with the 8000rpm number on them.

1993-1995 EX coupes, 4-doors, and LX 4-doors also had the 9000rpm tach as well.

 

i dont think dx's ever had the tach option. i'm pretty sure the lx's did though.

Yeah, my vx only goes up to 8000 rpm and in about to get hondata with springs and retainers so Im gonna be flyin past the 8 on my tach; I think im gonna get a shift light, set it for 8700 rpm and call it a day.

has any one ever made a hybrid cluster? i was thinking of removing the speedo numbers form a usa cluster and putting it in to a jdm vti cluster using the amber needles. has this been done. if so how and a pic.

 

He said it REDLINES at 6500rpm, whihc if you look carefully you'll see that it surely does.

He didn't say that numbers only went to 6500rpm.

 

well anyways. i can get it fairly cheap, is it worth it to get it and then try selling it?
