Heres an IDLE problem that I havent seen a fix for nor have I been able to fix it.......
Car: 91 CRX Si
Motor: D16A6 w/ 11:1 Pistons and P&P Head
Heres the problem sequence:
Cold...start her up... idle goes wayyyyyyyy up to near 2,500 then falls to about 2,100. Once it gradually warms up it will work its way down to around 1,100.
The motor has ALL NEW everything. Nothing is more than 2,000 miles old besides the block and head them selves. I put all new sensors, control valves, dis, tranny, flywheel, clutch, crack pully, camshaft, fuel pressure regulator, injectors, O2 sensor, plug wires, even new mounts, EVERYTHING. This sucker is like new. Only thing off the old oil burning motor is the Throttle Body. Ive turned the Idle control screw all the way in also. It never reved up this high before the thing was totally rebuilt. WHAT AM I MISSING HERE???

all i can say its check ur IACV
that might be giving u problems
also check that ur idle screw its close since u go too high...
also check that ur ignition timing isnt that advanced...
chek to see if ur idles kinda "dies" when u disconect ur MAP sensor...
other than that let me think ...

Hook up a vaccum gauge and check how much vaccum is in the manifold, my guess would be that you're making more than what the Stock motor was ever capable of. I had this problem once on a motor with 13.5:1, it pegged the vaccum gauge at full vaccum. I ended up having to fool the map sensor to get it to idle. Have you tried wildly adjusting your timing? This helped in my case, then I had to fool the Map to get it back to stock timing. Past that, if the gauge indicates not enough vaccum, then you should start looking for a leak.
