so i would just cut the pipes from the top of the ic, then close up the holes, then cut out new holes on the sides and use jb weld to put the pipes back on? how stong is jb weld?
Pretty strong, will hold a lot of pressure. BUT, it cant take a lot of shock. If you smack the piping against something it will crack.
That the same way I did mines. Looks ok too. Like he said it not gonna take not hard shock. I pressure tested mine too, but i havent boosted on it yet.

I'm going to GT Fabrications...they usually only deal with WRX and or DSM, but they're good guys...tig welds of course...give them a call 714-521-6612
their street addy is 6904 Oran Circle Buena Park, CA 90621...use mapquest or something....kinda hard to find, but the head guy used to work at RRE and RRE is pretty damn impressive

Maybe you could bring it to a radiator repair shop? I'm sure they do alot of aluminum welding. I have also heard of people just bringing them to muffler shops. Do the cutting yourself and supervise while they do it, so they don't dick it up (as seems to happen alot

The only reason that I did mine with JB weld ,was that I couldnt find anyone around to weld aluminum. I would recommend getting it welded ,but if you cant there is that alternative.
ill go check out the gt fabrications place, they are only 2 miles from my house. thnx man.
should i keep the in/outlets the same size? im using it with the greddy kit for d16z6. i was thinking 2.5 inlet and outlet

2.25" would be better for that setup. The bigger pipes will give you more airflow than you really need but they will increase lag.
haha...i just got my starion intercooler done just the way you want it...i wish i knew how to post pic. but i have no clue....its pretty simple...didn't cost that much either....all together with intercooler i spent $300...well good luck...if u need n/e info..p/m
