Default Before/After dyno of Mugen intake

I had the car dynoed before and after the installation on a Bosch FLA dyno.
It shows an increase of 7hp up top.
The picture is here.

The picture is not great, after it has been uploaded. I don't know why.
The numbers are not at the wheels. They said the dyno compensates for drivetrain losses.

To be honest, I don't really know. I'm just amazed by the sound of it. I'll have to get a little more used to it before trying to answer if I feel the power difference. But the sound is great!

The "before" was stock.

I try to be open minded when it comes to performance parts, but I could never justify spending roughly 3 times as much as an AEM, Icebox, etc., for equal, or possibly even lesser gains. Granted, I have no doubt that the quality is extremely high, but that extra money could buy more power elsewhere.

EDIT: No hard feelings or flaming intended, DanishR - congrats on the the intake. Just my own opinion, thats all.

Mike M has a dyno that shows much larger gains from the Mugen CAI. I think the computer he had the chart on bombed.... maybe he has it.

i dont understand why people think that number is incorrect or too low. its not like he is strapping on a blower. its an intake. just because it is mugen does not equate power. no flame inteded here either. i like the way it looks and sounds, (i had one) but just not worht the few extra pennies imho. anyway

I assumed he said it because it sounds high. That's a lot for an intake. There's so many factors involved who the hell knows . The fact that the dyno compensates for drivetrain loss could cause some discrepancies. I know you have a dyno graph but I just don't think it's 7 hp,. even at the crank. I dunno though. Can't really prove it otherwise.

dyno measures torque at the wheels, its possible to estimate crank hp.. but that would depend on condition of everything in between. They probably meant SAE numbers. If bosh dyno shows only estimated crank torque, then it might explain the dyno sheet of some mugen tuned r that was posted here couple month ago and showed 270hp or around that..

As far as hp gains, its possible to gain 7hp over dirty stock filter.
