whats wrong with my CRX???
Well, its cold here in Chicago and i never seen this happen to my car ever before... When i start up my car, the fan is blowing making this unusual noise so i turn off the fans... As the car warms up, i turned the fan back on and it blows cold air... As the car reaches regular temperture i proceed to drive the car as i do normally... Still no heat and i drive for about 10 minutes and the fan is blowing nothing but cold air... Then the car's temperture gauge is way above normal, my car over heats and doesnt blow cold air, whats going on???
Well i checked for leaks and no leaking... Drove the car around for 15 minutes and it didnt overheat this time... Fan on the radiator works and all fuses seems to be ok... But still no GDAMN HEAT!!!
I have heat colder then A/C itself right now... My toes are frozen and wish that i have this kinda cold air when it reaches Chicago summer weather... Can anyone help??

Hmm maybe a rodent crawled in to escape the 2 degree weather ( hey any port in the storm)..bad thermostat possible ( stuck open maybe)

I would say thermostat for sure. Pull it out and test it. Two ten mm bolts just behind the head and under the intake passenger side. Put it in a pan of boiling water it should open after a minute or so. If it is open when you remove it it is bad (stuck open). The thermostat has two plates one for the heater recirculate and one to allow water to go to the radiator. Make sure the small plate at the end has not broken off and just flopping around in the housing.
I had the same problem...no heat when I first bought the car. Started overheating, so I replaced thermostat/coolant. Overheated once more, but I figured I just didn't bleed the system enough...let it run some more, sho' nuff, I had to add some more coolant.
Since then it hasn't overheated again - but I still have no heat. But Gawd, it's soooooooo cold here! It was like 75 yesterday!!! BRRR!!!

I agree with the guys aboved. If you donth have a leak in your dash then its probably not the core. It is still possible for the heater core or valve to still be clogged though. Most likely its your thermostat stuck close not allowing coolant to circulate. Good luck...

Sorry i have been very busy lately... Worked 61 hours this damn week alone... But after a few days, my CRX became normal... Heat came back on while i was trying to take it to my cousin to take a look at it... Everything works normal in the car when i left it alone for 2 days...
the thermostat is stuck shut and will no open. just goto a checker/autozone or any parts store and buy a new one with a gasket for undere 10$, follow the bottom radaitor hose up to the motor and thats where its located, pull the hose off, then the 2 10mm bolts pull old thermostat off replace with new one, put housing back on put hose back on.
it would probably be best to drain the coolant first, little **** type deal on the bottom left corner of radaitor(if your looking at it from the front) drain it out, that way when you pull the hose to change the thermostat fluid wont be gushing out everywhere.
put everything back together fill radaitor back up 50/50 coolant and water let the car idle a bit with the cap off let all the air get out of the system make sure its full and your good to go
hope this helps
